Job Description

Provide effective underwriting expertise within assigned Crop product lines. Facilitate comprehensive rate and forms filing by analyzing and researching regulations and documenting, communicating and initiating required changes to achieve speed to market and meet state and federal requirements.
  • Perform due diligence through utilizing resources, vendor tools and claims risk alert recommendations while performing rate analysis to identify inconsistencies, review additional exposures and ensure risk selection contributes to business growth
  • Prepare rate and form filings for Crop submissions by consistently adopting and adhering to effective corporate processes to ensure accurate and compliant submissions
  • Complete rate updating by researching product changes and accurately entering information into online system to migrate information in a timely manner and ensure production of accurate insurance policies
  • Build relationships with regulatory contacts by responding promptly to filings and product inquiries and escalating issues as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to Crop underwriting standards, objectives and guidelines by managing own workload and processing complex policies in a timely and efficient manner to meet department production requirements, state regulatory requirements and agent expectations
  • Foster strong partnerships with agents by leading training sessions, informing on new products and programs, communicating opportunities for continuous improvement and clarifying and explaining underwriting decisions to ensure understanding of Crop goals and objectives
  • Provide timely and accurate information to customer inquiries
  • Assist with analysis of industry data and company data including claims results, product rating and financial reporting
  • Support rules and rates update process for assigned business lines by organizing and uploading manuals into online systems as required to enable availability and accessibility for business use
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting rate issues, updating system according to guidelines, re-testing rates and escalating complex problems, as required, to senior team members or Strategy and Technology to quickly and efficiently correct policy errors and mitigate risk
