Job Description

Manage and represent the divisional service design and transition (SD&T) capability, portfolio and subject matter experts (SME) in line with the Global SD&T objectives. Support the Global SD&T transformation workstream and management function.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Maintain communication with pipeline owners to ascertain future demand requirements on SD&T
  • Support the Global SD&T Roadmap
  • Provide end to end management of the SD&T team and portfolio
  • Maintain a view of the SD&T objectives and ensure all projects conform to the SD&T framework
  • Produce and monitor monthly SD&T operational reporting, including future demand, resource allocation and utilization
  • Monitor and ensure SD&T SME’s activities/outputs are aligned to the SD&T policy and procedures
  • Support the development and maturity of SD&T processes and procedures in line with Global SD&T
  • Ensure projects conform to SD&T Policy, processes and procedures and escalate non-compliance
  • Leverage key IT stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment to SD&T framework and strategy
  • Network and knowledge share with counterparts within the Global SD&T department
  • Champion SD&T within division and coach non -SME’s
  • Ensure regular and open communication across IT within division to ensure early engagement and pipeline management
  • Ensure each project within the portfolio delivers against the SD&T Framework
  • Oversee the development and quality of individual service designs, transitions and early life support within portfolio and ensure they are produced to within time and budget
  • Ensure the production and dissemination of appropriate weekly and monthly reports
  • Manage and allocate work to direct reports and ensure good demand management practice is adopted
  • Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
  • Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and  properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility
  • Create a positive environment by modeling cultural expectations and guiding leaders to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • 5 years relevant experience Designing complex IT services involving multiple vendors; managing a team and onboarding of new resources; Chairing approval boards and workshops; working in a multi managed supplier environment and within a waterfall and or agile environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong understanding of service design and transition

  • Firm understanding of ITIL V2/V3

  • Firm understanding of service management

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies

  • Strong and confident communication skills

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Grasp technical information quickly

  • Good interviewing skills

  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict effectively

  • Ability to lead by example

  • Ability to balance, co-ordinate and translate the needs of multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to write good management reports

  • Excellent ability to multitask
