Job Description

Lead and guide strategic development for QBE North America by providing vision for effectiveness, analyzing risks and leading the creation of policies and processes to achieve organizational growth within assigned region.
  • Develop, communicate, and deliver results by guiding department goals, collaborating with senior leadership, and analyzing metrics to ensure operations support organizational objectives in assigned region
  • Achieve strategic organizational goals and drive operations by leading all regional employees.
  • Influence all product lines in assigned region by guiding and shaping underwriting quality assurance, price, rate and exposure monitoring, price adequacy and risk selection for assigned region
  • Oversee producer Profit and Loss (P&L) and ensure delivery of rate, retention, and new business drivers to support business unit objectives
  • Lead coordination of agency management needs (agency compensation, contracts, appointments, licensing and affiliations) within the assigned region
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the region by performing gap analysis and developing and implementing new organizational and management strategies to streamline processes and improve organizational systems
  • Guide and review the portfolio on a regular basis by communicating strategies and ensuring best practice is understood and implemented to ensure appropriate performance
  • Build strategic relationships with current and potential channels by networking and providing engaged consultation to foster business growth and meet underwriting and profitability goals
  • Drive a performance management culture by mobilizing and developing individuals at all levels, encouraging cross-team collaboration and leading department to achieve positive results for the organization
  • Plan, allocate and manage financial budget by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and  properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility
  • Foster a positive environment by modeling cultural expectations and guiding leaders to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun
  • Model QBE values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions and interpersonal interactions; manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives
