Job Description

Conduct fundamental credit research, analysis and reporting of domestic and international credit risks to make conclusions and recommendations that support the investment process and contributes to achieve the overall return targets and organizational objectives.

Key Result Areas & Key Performance Indicators

Strategy and Planning

  • Assist in the evaluation and on-going monitoring of the global credit risk by understanding credit principles and best practices, applying sound credit judgment and adhering to established company policies, processes and guidelines
  • Determine corporate creditworthiness by examining qualitative and quantitative components of credit risk across sectors and markets, performing financial statement and ratio analysis, industry and macro trends and operating environments providing credit conclusions and recommendations to Portfolio Managers and writing reports.
  • Assess transaction structure, risks and mitigation strategies to present conclusions and recommendations
  • Support the identification, assessment, integration and ongoing management of ESG factors into our credit research process
  • Attend regular external meetings with counterparties.
  • Contributes with recommendations to deliver return targets
  • Offer considered opinions
  • Drive a rigorous and disciplined credit analysis process. Quality of data analysis and insights
  • Integrate internal economic and credit research with external research
  • Actively participate in credit committees as the opportunities arise
  • Contribute to promote change as appropriate to deliver GI and FI Initiatives.
  • High standard Professional representation   

Policies and Procedures

  • Compliance with all delegated authorities and risk parameters, and demonstrate understanding of the risk management framework
  • Participate in the identification of information sources, testing of risk analysis models and gathering of reference information by regularly analyzing and reviewing data
  • Contribute to development and enhancement of robust credit analysis processes
  • Full understanding of the risk management framework. Self-identification of incidents.
  • Compliance/Operations Teams do not highlight unresolved or pending issues, and all information or feedback requests are timely provided
  • Provide timely and thoughtful input into the review of processes and policies, as well as UAT activities in which participation is required.
  • Support change related activities as appropriate

Customer and process Focus

  • Support Portfolio Managers in client relationship and business development activities by using high degree of business acumen and credit expertise
  • Build and maintain highly effective relationships within FI, across Group Investments, and with Group and Divisional stake-holders.
  • Contribute to relevant project management activities
  • Support the Manager Credit Analysis in the provision of relevant information for report generation. Ensure provision of information to meet client needs with timely, consistent and high-quality standards.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of Monitoring and watch list.
  • No due STATIC reports.
  • Demonstrate understanding of timeliness and criticality of information
  • Collaborate with colleagues including participation in cross sectional team projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in Investment committee and diverse forums as required.

  • Contribute positively to engagement within Group Investments
  • Role model positive behaviors.
  • Contribute to higher engagement as evidence by Voice Survey and other relevant measures.

Knowledge

  • Relevant degree in Economics/Finance/Business
  • Background information and proven ability and interest to investigate, analyze, understand markets / political / regulatory / institutional developments, as well as organize findings and build presentations

  • Investments acumen, possess strong technical and analytical skills. Fixed income knowledge preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience, with a focus on fundamental credit analysis.

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 pounds.
