Job Description

Partnership with the shared service areas in Sun Prairie, primarily Business Operations Services, Human Resources and Expense Accounting to provide analytical reporting and financial support for the areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner effectively with the Business Operations Services and Human Resource organizations to track operational expense results and provide meaningful and insightful commentary on performance and other financial assistance as necessary
  • Identify key initiatives and resources, measure performance targets and analyze and interpret operating results and trend requirements to support a comprehensive multi-year planning process for areas of responsibility.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial data by developing various models and reports, analyzing and communicating results, responding to complex financial issues and providing best practice solutions to assist with company direction and decision-making
  • Provide insightful headcount analytics on a monthly basis and analyze the cost base of the existing and future QBENA employee population
  • Oversee the preparation of the WOF report with the GSSC for group submission
  • Guide readiness of processes, systems and data for an effective planning process
  • Build relationships by collaborating, communicating  and coordinating resources across departments, business units and with outside companies to develop and maintain beneficial partnerships
  • Manage a performance enhancement culture by actively coaching and mentoring direct reports, providing regular feedback and developing employees for wider roles and responsibilities to foster professional growth and development
  • Model QBE values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions and interpersonal interactions; manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

-Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or Mathematics

-10+ years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's Degree

-Increasing experience consistent with line of business knowledge; finance and reporting experience


  • Advanced working knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting
  • Advanced knowledge products and concepts relating to the insurance industry
  • Terminology, concepts and principles related to strategic planning


  • Build and establish constructive and cooperative working relationships and open lines of communication
  • Manage data to be accurate, timely and accessible
  • Collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal; escalate issues when necessary
  • Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner
  • High degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibility
  • Prioritize interests of the company and community during decision-making
