Job Description

Contribute to the execution of the annual audit plan by assisting with the planning and execution of audits, and effectively communicating audit results to management and other stakeholders. Interact and work closely with the central team based in NYC.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform and document audits in accordance with the audit methodology requirements and professional standards
  • Perform process walkthroughs, assess the design of key management controls and test them on a sample basis for operating effectiveness
  • Assist with the annual risk assessment of auditable entities that results in the annual audit plan
  • Perform various project assignments and ad hoc requests, as needed
  • Develop and maintain productive relationship with team members, management and other stakeholders
  • Acquire and maintain insurance industry knowledge and audit skills
  • Adopt and exhibit QBE values and behaviors


Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience

2 years relevant experience



Preferred Qualifications

Experience

Technical audit experience; insurance industry background

Licenses/Certifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA); Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); Insurance related certifications

Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting business and organization

  • Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner
  • Adapt and be flexible in a complex changing environment; manage one's own time
  • Manage multiple projects or responsibilities concurrently and effectively

Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)

General office jobs

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 pounds.
