Job Description

Execute the development and implementation of actionable, data-enabled business strategies to improve organizational performance and influence business decision making by partnering with appropriate business groups, deploying analytic solutions and identifying opportunities for analytic development

Primary responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy analytic solutions by partnering with appropriate business groups to identify areas of analytic opportunity and utilizing predictive and optimization methods to execute strategies
  • Advise business groups on the interpretation of analytic insights and how to best leverage  analytic findings in business decision making
  • Execute model and analytic development by analyzing business performance and quantifying opportunities across business groups 
  • Manage and execute analytic projects and coordination of activities with other shared services partners and Data & Analytics teams
  • Leverage data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making
  • Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and  properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility

Required Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience

  • 7 years relevant experience




Preferred Qualifications


Education

  • Master's Degree
  • Advanced degree (MS/MA/MBA/PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Finance or other quantitative field

Experience

  • Experience in analytical  and consulting roles with insurance or financial services firms


Licenses/Certifications

  • ACAS
  • FCAS

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of  statistical /data mining methods and successful business applications
  • Track record of implementing analytical recommendations and models that deliver significant sustained business impact
  • Insurance processes and procedures, industry trends, standards and best practices
  • Advanced knowledge in query and report development tools
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Strong project management , collaboration, and communication skills
  • Assume a methodical approach to problem-solve and evaluate complex data
  • Understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them
  • Determine the kind of tools needed to extract and organize relevant data

  • Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is not substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate basic office equipment including telephone, headset and computer. Incumbent must be able to lift basic office equipment up to 20 pounds.
